Fulbright Call for Scholars & Students

Traditional Fulbright Scholar Awards enable emerging and established scholars, post-doctoral researchers and experienced professionals to conduct research, teach or undertake a combination of both activities for one semester or a full academic year at a university or research centre of their choice in the host country. Applicants must have received a Ph.D. or equivalent professional/terminal degree by December 31, 2010 or have equivalent professional experience.

Fulbright scholarships are awarded for periods ranging from one semester to a full year. Dates of the awards should coincide with the academic year of the host institution. Traditional Fulbright Scholar awards are not available for the summer months only, nor are awards available for attendance at professional conferences or meetings.

An App a Day to Keep Childhood Obesity at Bay!

Apps for healthy kidsFirst Lady Michelle Obama has been on a mission to end childhood obesity within a generation.  As part of her Let’s Move campaign, the USDA has launched the Apps for Healthy Kids contest.  It challenges American software developers, game designers, students, and all those tech savvy to create new software tools that will engage kids and their families to eat healthy and get active.

Although the contest is only open for submissions from Americans, Canadians can still benefit from checking out the Application Gallery.  There you’ll find submitted apps and links to helpful websites that you can use to help your family get on track to better health.

Make sure to check the site again between July 14th to August 14th when you can cast your vote for your favorite app!Happy fruits & veggies
